The CONMEBOL-UEFA Cup of Champions also known as the Artemio Franchi Cup is an Intercontinental competition jointly organised by the UEFA and CONMEBOL where the reigning champions of the Euro Championship and the Copa America take part.

The tournament was started in 1985 but to date, only two editions have taken place. The last time this match was conducted was in 1993 after which it stopped. The competition was re-launched in 2022 after the two confederations signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU).

Argentina, who had won the Copa America 2021 after a gap of 28 years, will take on Euro 2020 winners Italy on June 1, 2022, at the Wembley Stadium in London, England.

France were the first-ever champion beating Uruguay 2-0 in 1985. The last time this match was held was in 1993 when Argentina defeated Denmark 5-4 (1-1) in the penalty shootout to lift the trophy.
