In October 2023, Full House alum John Stamos released his memoir, If You Would Have Told Me. The book detailed an intimate look at his life in the spotlight, including a painful divorce from ex-wife Rebecca Romijn.

When the book was first released, Rebecca did not make any public comments about it, but her husband (and The Talk co-host) Jerry O'Connell did shut down questions when he was asked about what John had wrote in his book.

"You know, it’s not really my place to say [anything]," he disclosed in the interview with Access Hollywood on October 23. "I would rather my wife talk about that."

Well, now, Rebecca has spoken out. When asked by Entertainment Tonight on the Critics Choice Awards' red carpet about being in the headlines because of John's book, the Star Trek: Strange New Worlds star admitted she was quite stunned.

"I was very surprised by all of that, incredibly shocked, actually," Rebecca said. "I was sort of blindsided by it. But you know, I don't really want to help him sell his books based on those headlines. So that's all I really want to say about it."

Although this is one of the rare times Rebecca has spoken out about her first marriage, John has been open about what he felt was the demise of their relationship. In the memoir, he writes about the couple experiencing infidelity, feelings of betrayal and how his feelings changed for her as she saw career success amid his struggles.

As fans may know, Rebecca eventually married Jerry in 2007, and gave birth to twin daughters, Charlie and Dolly, in December 2008. John also went on to wed Caitlin McHugh in February 2018, and they welcomed their son, Billy, two months later.

While John and Rebecca haven't seen each other since their divorce, Jerry did tell Justin Long on his Life Is Short podcast in 2021 how the two were still in an interesting proximity to one another.

"[John] seems like a great guy," Jerry said at the time. "He recently moved really close to my family and I. So my kids have a joke when we're driving — my kids are always like 'there he is, there he is' — my kids are dying to meet him. My kids are infatuated with him because of the Full House thing ... They're in love him, everyone is."
