When we last left Dwayne Johnson’s Spencer Strasmore—the former NFL player-turned-financial advisor—he was giving an impassioned speech to NFL rookies on the heels of a drug-and-alcohol fueled bender that included one lit-ass party at an Ohio strip club. Strasmore seems to have cleaned up his act by the start of the third season of Ballers, as the latest trailer shows him and partner-in-crime Joe Krutel (played by Rob Corddry) back in action with another high-falutin’ scheme. This time, the duo want to put an NFL team in Las Vegas.
Ballers has never really been here to make much sense. Why would a financial agency that represents players be spearheading a relocation to Vegas? This would never happen in the actual NFL, but it does give HBO a reason to film Dwayne Johnson on the Strip. Like the last season of Ballers, Season 3 will feature a greasy white-collar type standing in the way of Strasmore’s plan, this time played by Steve Guttenberg. (This show would be a lot better if Johnson beat these suckers up instead of complaining about his damn hip all the time.)
The trailer features about what you would expect—scantily clad women, fast cars, scantily clad women, Johnson delivering an impassion speech, scantily clad women, random football scenes, and scantily clad women getting naked.
