Item Description
9x11.75" slipcase contains gold gilt cover hardcover of William Shakespeare's famous comedy w/gorgeous illustrations by noted comic and fantasy artist Charles Vess. Printed by The Donning company, 1988. This is a limited signed and numbered first edition, page opposite title page has tipped-in bookplate w/hand-numbered edition number of 239 of 1,000 and has been signed in black felt tip pen by Vess. NM. Book comes w/two prints; one is 12.25x18.25" print for Neil Gaiman's "Stardust" which featured stunning illustrations by Vess. Printed for the 1995 Comic Book Expo, Vess has signed at bottom in pencil. Corners show lt. wear and bottom has scuff. VF/Exc. Second print for "Book Of Ballads And Sagas" measures 16x20" and was published by Green Man Press as part of a limited edition printing. Poster has been signed in black felt tip pen by Vess and has been hand-numbered "161/500." NM. From the collection of comics and illustration historian Brian M. Kane.
