Westworld actor Rodrigo Santoro is joining Timeless star Abigail Spencer in Hulu‘s drama pilot Reprisal.
Santoro has been cast in a series regular role on the series, which chronicles a woman’s (Spencer) quest for revenge. The role does not preclude Santoro from returning to Westworld, where he recurs as gunslinger Hector Escaton. The character (spoiler alert) was killed in a battle on the HBO show’s season two finale, but hosts have a way of being resurrected.
Reprisal is a “hyper-kinetic revenge tale” centered on Spencer’s character, a femme fatale who is attacked and left for dead. After surviving, however, she leads a campaign against a bombastic gang of gearheads. Santoro will play Joel Kelly, a longtime member of said gang, The Banished Brawlers, who finds himself rising to the level of de facto leader. The honor-bound Kelly has also undergone a recent shift in priorities due to his life outside the gang and struggles to keep the peace.
The A+E Studios/Littlefield Company pilot comes from writer Josh Corbin (StartUp), who is also a co-executive producer. Warren Littlefield and Barry Jossen are exec producing, with Ann Johnson and Graham Littlefield also on board as co-EPs. Jonathan Van Tulleken (FX’s Trust) is directing the pilot.
Santoro is repped by ICM Partners and Management 360, and Troika in the U.K.
