Teofilo Gutiérrez, one of those called to star in the Deportivo Cali vs. Boca Juniors on the night of this April 5th, will have a different look given how special the occasion is.

The captain of the Caleño team, who is not going through his best moment, taking the penultimate position in the BetPlay League, dyed his hair green and silver, as seen in a photograph on his Instagram account. In the picture he appeared accompanied by Bryant Barraza, the barber.

It is not the first time that the man from La Chinita, who arrived at the Vallecaucano complex last September, has dyed his hair as an expression of happiness. He also did so on December 24, to leave a message of Merry Christmas to his followers: with green hair he did not hide the excitement of having been crowned coffee football champion by winning the final over Deportes Tolima.

Teo no solo es llamado a liderar a un Deportivo Cali urgido de triunfos por ser su capitán, sino por su experiencia en torneos continentales.

Teo is not only called to lead a Deportivo Cali urged for triumphs because he is his captain, but because of his experience in continental tournaments. With River Plate, for example, he won the Copa Sudamericana in 2014 and the Cup Cup in 2015. What's more, in 2014 he was elected the best footballer in America, a record of which Boca Juniors knows.

This campaign, in which the attacker was absent in key matches due to a Dimayor sanction for allegedly offending the rival fan, adds one goal and four assists.

When Deportivo Cali was crowned champion of the BetPlay League 2021 II, the fans imagined a promising 2022 season. However, there is nothing more distant than reality: Los Azucareros will debut in the Copa Libertadores with only three wins in 14 matches in the local league.

The fact that the first three months of those directed by Rafael Dudamel were not the best is due, among others, to the fact that although he made perhaps more signings than desired, most of them are not performing as expected. In addition, Johan Valencia and Andrés Colorado, strongholds in the containment zone, were not replaced with players that measure up.

Harold Santiago Mosquera, Sebastián Leyton and Agustín Vuletich, for example, have not met the expectations placed on them: overflowing, scoring rivals and scoring goals, respectively. Those who are beginning to provide solutions to the green-and-white painting in the medullary area are two academy players Yimmi Congo and Enrique Camargo, two academy players. As a striker, unfortunately, not even Angelo Rodriguez has dazzled.

Despite having some numbers against, as well as the performance of some players, Rafael Dudamel commented:

For Cali, Guillermo Burdisso will undoubtedly be decisive, due to his international experience; Teófilo Gutiérrez, because of his hierarchy, and that Vuletich (Angelo Rodríguez) breaks the streak without scoring.

The advantage for the Cali squad will be not having to score the most unbalanced player of the x eneize, Sebastián Villa, sanctioned for his behavior after the last elimination of Copa Libertadores against Atlético Mineiro. For the same reason, the blue and gold team will not be able to count on Marcos Rojo, a benchmark in defence, with a past in Manchester United.
