Earlier in 2023, I used ChatGPT and Midjourney to create a fairy tale comic book, and put it up on Amazon eBooks. Many people expressed interest in this little book, and I want to extend my thanks once again. At that time, I believed that we could use AI tools to create movies in the near future. With the rapid development of AI technology, my wish finally came true at the end of 2023: I made a movie using various AI tools. It was like giving myself a New Year's gift. This is a fictional story I created about the Mafia, set in 1930s Chicago. It's a story involving conspiracy, betrayal, loyalty, friendship, and persistence. I have tentatively titled this series "Chicago Mafia 1930". Below is the first episode of this movie series: https://lnkd.in/g3nZtA_x I have detailed the technical aspects of how I made this movie episode in one of my medium blogs: https://shorturl.at/boIU4 Here, I would like to share some extra thoughts beyond the technicalities. Making a movie is a big job that usually needs many people working together for a long time, often years from the start of writing to showing it in theaters. But with AI technology getting better, even laypeople or solo creators can now make movies. Just like how social media let everyone share stories and take photos, AI is opening the door for everyone to be movie makers. This is definitely good because it wakes up more people's creativity, and shakes up the traditional movie industry's control. The traditional film industry will no longer be able to monopolize the movie market. In 2023, my AI side projects achieved a three-stage leap: (1) Painting with AI. (2) Creating comic books with AI. (3) Making films with AI. Of course, AI-made movies are still in their early stages. But think about how black-and-white silent films evolved into the colorful, sound-filled movies we love today. Early films in late 19th century changed everything.  And now, AI films, though still new, might do the same for our future, just like those early movies "Roundhay Garden Scene" and "Workers Leaving the Factory" did. AI movies will ultimately going to change the future of humanity.

Very interesting. You are correct making movies is a big job that employs hundreds and sometimes thousands of individuals who must put food on the table. Even gaming movies equally employ hundreds of individuals. Those individuals work for many companies including Amazon. If we fall into the belief you state there truly is no need for many jobs. Heck workers could just use AI to replace others. We won’t need Ph.Ds, MD, JD as AI will supersede the need. When combined with robotics life will change. So while what you created is cool the “The traditional film industry will no longer be able to monopolize the movie market” actually puts food on the table. Amazon, Google, Microsoft, IBM, Walmart, and so on have monopolized technology and industries. Should AI be used to destroy the livelihood because of individualism and personal belief? You’re a smart man and should realize AI in some form or fashion is “Dolly the sheep”. The problem is technology under AI moves faster and with no controls it will cause true harm. Data is powerful but until self-awareness occurs with emotions complacency will cause dangerous results financially, medically, and society.
