Brilliant to see Virgin Media O2 introduce 12 weeks of paid neonatal leave added onto maternity, paternity or adoption leave to ensure parents can have quality time to bond with their new-borns. It makes me so proud to see how the company has built out the best HR policies to support its brilliant people. Amazing work, Virgin Media O2. Here’s more about the industry-leading policies the business has introduced: https://virg.in/Jamw #maternityleave #paternityleave #HRpolicies #peoplefirst #peoplepolicies

That is brilliant to see 12 weeks of leave added on to maternity, paternity, or adoption! Seems you also have Carer's leave too. You take care of & appreciate your employees clearly! Here in USA they have not had paid leave though it has been fought over trying to pass in Congress House&Senate to make it law. Many companies do not have leave, many that do also do not give it as paid leave if offer it... but at least in those jobs you don't loose your job when having baby. It is strange USA has such hard position on making having child such financial strain incl can loose your job over it. It also is extremally hard getting back to work w affordable daycare as is expensive making working & daycare=cannot pay bills. SO many also then opt to not go back to work as spend all time away from child & cannot pay bills. It is shocking numbers of women lead homes that are also fatherless in USA runs from 71% - 80% looking at different years & stats that also then require expense of daycare to go back to work as well. Many of these single moms also do not get support from father's as well...making everything harder as well. Granted there are many great businesses that give leave & appreciate value of their employees, but it should be more.

That’s great! What about taking leave for people taking care of elderly parents? Is that a thing?

Thank you for sharing this! I'm a 4th-year business student working on a presentation that showcases the barriers faced by working mothers, specifically in the first year of motherhood. Many women are faced with making a tough choice to pursue their career or motherhood, and in many cases, it has to be one or the other. I hope programs like this inspire other organizations to do the same. Because THIS is what putting people first looks like 👏

I had a week. I took two weeks annual leave on top. Vital when my partner had an emergency C Section.

Holly Branson , we can't tell you how proud we are at Tidal Equality that the #EquitySequence is playing a role in equipping Virgin Media O2 to bring forward these impactful and equitable policies. We are inspired by the influence these policies can and will have on individual lives as well as on the systemic level in the UK! 💙

This is so cool to see! I build remote teams in Africa, and in Ethiopia, the law requires a 4-month maternity leave. I always find it cool when African countries set a better example! Happy to see more global companies like yours adopting better leaves (especially for paternity and adoption too!). Well done!
