With the 2014 World Cup inches away, FIFA's number one ranked side, Spain, announced their final 23-man squad for the tournament in Brazil, leaving behind a few big names.

Vicente del Bosque named a provisional 30-man side which was expectedly dominated by the likes of Spanish heavyweights Barcelona, Real Madrid, and Atletico Madrid, as well as English Premier League winners Manchester City, and Bundesliga champions Bayern Munich.

However, there was the surprise exclusion of a rising star: Real Madrid midfielder Isco. The former Malaga talent was left out of the squad set to travel to Brazil on June, with newcomers Koke and Ander Iturraspe of Atletico Madrid and Athletic Bilbao, respectively, making the provisional squad, instead.

Other big name exclusions include Tottenham's Roberto Soldado, Real Madrid's Alvaro Arbeloa, and Arsenal's Nacho Monreal.
