Guillermo Ochoa plays hero with a fan and thousands cheer him in Houston

What the Mexican National Soccer Team experienced on Sunday satisfied thousands of fans at the NRG Houston Stadium as well as millions at home. But in addition to the team's strong performance on the field, what Guillermo Ochoa did with a fan also stood out.

A few days ago he received a lot of criticism after a fan asked him for a photograph, to which the Salernitana goalkeeper agreed, but the fan, very excited, wanted to tell something to the player, who left him with the word in his mouth, turned around and got on the team's bus.

But Ochoa prevented them from treating him violently and asked them not to hurt him, which provoked applause for the goalkeeper, as he showed solidarity with the young man, who was removed from the field. Mexico won 4-0, Ochoa was calm on the field and at the end he left with a standing ovation for a great night.

This match marked the debut of Jaime Lozano as coach of the Tricolor, who after being booed, with empty stands and a lot of criticism from the fans, now the team presented a new face in the 4-0 defeat against Honduras in its presentation at the Gold Cup 2023.
