A.B. Stoddard Says Giuliani is ‘Lying’ About Mueller Probe: ‘We Have No Idea How Big This Iceberg is’

Real Clear Politics columnist A.B. Stoddard said President Donald Trump’s “PR team” — consisting of just Rudy Giuliani — is trying to convince Americans that the Robert Mueller’s investigation is close to wrapping up, when in actuality, they have “no idea how big this iceberg is.”

“Rudy Giuliani actually does know what he’s talking about, which is another example of how people have been willing to corrupt themselves in service to Trump. Because Rudy Giuliani is lying. He knows better,” Stoddard said on MSNBC today with Hallie Jackson. “He knows every single one of these infractions that are just fine and get passed over or you pay a fee or fine for, and what are crimes. He knows all of this. But he continues to spin that everything about the Mueller probe is illegitimate.”

She went on to note that the “president’s team has made it sound repeatedly as if Mueller is on a deadline,” even though no such deadline is in place, since it is unclear what his team may have found in all the recent court updates related to the probe.

“They want people to believe that it’s overdue and Mueller is looking around on the floor for things like paper clips that might incriminate Trump, but really doesn’t have goods,” she added.

“Tip. Iceberg. We have no idea how big this iceberg is. We have no idea what he’s working on. We know every time we see a revelation in these court documents, doors are opening. They are not closing. It seems like every door he opens, there’s six more. This is going to go well into 2019. That scares the president’s team. They want us to believe that Mueller has blown it and we know everything he’s looking into and that’s simply not true.”

Stoddard’s comments come after another busy, headline-grabbing weekend for Giuliani, who appeared on the Sunday shows to say Trump will meet with Mueller “over my dead body.” He also defended the president for changing his story in relation to the Russia probe, since he “is not under oath,” could not give a defiant answer when asked if Roger Stone told Trump about his communications with WikiLeaks.
