Laughter at Dog's Reason to Visit Neighbor at 7am: 'All About Consistency'

All dogs wake up their owners in the morning to get treats, but a toy Aussie shepherd from the Midwest decided it would be a great idea to wake up his neighbor instead.

In a viral video shared on TikTok in February, under the username @girlsgirl80, the pup can be seen showing up at his neighbor's door early in the morning, waiting for her to come outside with a snack for him, like he does very often.

The post comes with a caption that reads: "When the neighbor's dog shows up at 7am demanding treats. He'll b back 3 more times. it's 7am my only day off. my dogs haven't even been out yet. I'm trying to drink my coffee & watch TV till 8."

Dogs are always hungry, and if it was up to them, they would eat all day. However, feeding them too much can end up harming them. So how do you know much are they actually supposed to eat in a day?

The experts at Pet MD say that the size of your dog matters when calculating how much you should feed them; smaller and toy breeds need much less food than bigger and more athletic canines.

Toy dogs that weigh up to 3lb need only about 139 calories during the day, while medium dogs up to 30lbs require about 781 calories. Bigger dogs, such as those weighing up to 100lbs, must have around 1,926 calories.

"Unless stated otherwise, these amounts give you the total that is recommended for your dog over a 24-hour period," the Pet MD website says.

The video quickly went viral on social media, getting viewers from across Instagram. It has so far received over 738,700 views and more than 98,100 likes on the platform.

One user, Andy Thibodeau, commented: "It's seven o clock on the dot I'm in the drop spot waiting for treats." And If Your Pet Talked posted: "Jake said 'Stop holding out. I want the good treats."

Haloro wrote: "Lmao [Laughing my *** off] this would be the highlight of my morning everyday and probably my dogs too." And Not a Jedi added: "Oh my gosh I only have cats but I would buy a bag of dog treats just for Jake."
