What is Victoria's Secret: Angels and Demons About?

Victoria's Secret: Angel and Demons will delve deep into how a small lingerie company rose to worldwide domination.

From 1995 until 2019, the company hosted an annual fashion show that served as a marquee event in pop culture. For example, who could forget Bella Hadid strutting her stuff past her ex-boyfriend The Weeknd as he performed live on stage and Elsa Hosk nearly hitting Ariana Grande with her massive angel wings as she sang her heart out?

Over the years, it became home to some of the biggest supermodels in history, including Heidi Klum, Naomi Campbell, Tyra Banks Gisele Bündchen, Alessandra Ambrosio, and Adriana Lima.

Most recently, the likes of Kendall Jenner, Gigi and Bella Hadid, Josephine Skriver, and Elsa Hosk have all stomped the runway.

With every show, things just got bigger and bigger, with popular music guests taking to the stage including The Weeknd, Justin Bieber, Harry Styles, and Taylor Swift.

However, the brand is most certainly not without its flaws. In recent years, the brand has faced severe criticism for its lack of diversity, representation, and negative stance on body positivity.

Things came to a head in 2018, when CMO Ed Razek told Vogue he had "no interest" in featuring plus-sized models on the Victoria's Secret runway. In another interview with Vogue, Razek said "transsexual models" would not be cast on the Victoria's Secret runway as it was a "fantasy."

In 2019, Razek resigned and the last fashion show took place in 2018. Ever since Victoria's Secret has been trying to usher in a new era.

Victoria's Secret: Angel and Demons will take a look at the controversy surrounding the brand, including the CEO Les Wexner's ties to Jeffrey Epstein.

Epstein was arrested in July 219 on federal charges of sex trafficking of minors in New York and Florida. He was found dead in his prison cell in August 2019 and his death was ruled as suicide.
