The recent release of Yoshi's Crafted World on the Switch has encouraged Nintendo of America to take a trip down memory lane. By the way…did you know that the “saddle” on Yoshi’s back is a shell?

First. Super Mario World 2: Yoshi's Island is definitely my favourite. I still enjoyed the DS game and the 3DS games even though they weren't quite of the same quality. Woolly World was awesome.
What i couldn't believe was the voice actor of Yoshi.
I was surprised to hear his voice as Yoshi that completely different with his real voice.
So Surreal ! 😆
The original Yoshi's Island and Woolly World are still my favorites. Crafted World is pretty good but nothing amazing to me. I hope Woolly World gets ported to the Switch. It's not particularly likely but I'd still love to see it happen!
yoshi's island will always be the pinnacle. yoshi's island 2 on ds was a nice sequal. but oh man yoshi's new island for 3ds was a stinker in comparison.
I want a Woolly World sequel someday. I just don’t like Crafted World all that much. It’s too slow and aiming with the stick sucks. I want (optional) gyro aiming if aiming in 3D space. Maybe Splatoon 2 spoiled me.
My favorite Yoshi is Yoshi Story 64! Always a fun game to play and hard to get all melons.
Crafted world is so cute along side wooly world.
I wonder what they'll do next.
He hasn't changed that much compared to for example Bowser.
I haven't played that many Yoshi platformers, but I'm really enjoying Crafted World right now. Otherwise, Yoshi's Island on SNES is probably the best one.
@Tsurii
I’d say they’ve stuck closer to the design of Yoshi Story with the larger more humans like hands and rounder shell on his back but also how he moved in most games comes from that dreadful game with him walking and standing very upright. Smash Bros Melee very noticeable accurately depicted how he looked and moved in Yoshi’s Island
SMW2 Yoshi's Island is my favorite. I enjoy these new ones like Woolly World and Crafted World, mostly because of the visuals, but I dont find them that interesting because they are not challenging, levels can be too long and there are too many thing to collect and replay.
I wish we had more new Donkey Kong Country games - there are only 5 until now. Where is the big DKC6 with K. Rool? There seem to be more Yoshi games than Donkey Kong games.
Ok. I have an issue with this article. This is not an evolution. He has not iteratively changed he has merely been drawn in a number of different graphical styles over the years... I guess you could maybe argue the eyelids have changed slightly but hardly a design evolution.
Super Mario World 2 Yoshi’s Island is literally one of the finest games ever made. Perfection! I absolutely adore it. Woolly World is fantastic too I was so happy that game was good! Crafted World next for me, can’t wait.
These are the true evolution of Yoshi, you can see how he really change from baby to realistic.
@MJInnocent You're in for a treat!
Did you really just copy a switch news channel post and pretend it's an article?
A few days after it appeared on the console's channel no less.
Yoshi safari with a friend and a superscope was a real blast
Yoshi’s Woolly World is one of the best games I’ve ever had the pleasure of playing. Never got to play Yoshis Island and yet to play Crafted World as not yet in possession of a Switch.
Of those Yoshi games, I've played eight of them, with Yoshi's Story and Yoshi's Safari being my favorite.
Fun timing with this news, been playing Yoshi's Crafted World, and played some Yoshi Touch & Go for the fun of it yesterday.
This appeared on the Switch news feed about 2 weeks ago.
The first Yoshi's Island is the best. Never should have been called Super Mario World 2 mind. Think that was done to try and shift more copies as Nintendo's last main SNES game.
Yoshi's Island will always be my favorite. So much nostalgia for it! I might pick up crafted world at some point. It's a perfect game to play with my niece!
My favorite time playing as Yoshi might be in Mario Oddyssey.
Though I guess I’m Mario in that.
My 4yo twins are in complete love with Crafted World. A game that is accessible, smart and perfect for kids who want to play with their dad
I refuse to believe that Yoshi's saddle is a shell. Just like I refuse to believe the Koopalings are not Bowser's kids.
Anyway, I've played every single one of these games! Not all to completion, but overall it's been an enjoyable ride, so far. Yoshi's Island in particular was outstanding, and Yoshi's Woolly World was almost as good; if only it had better boss battles and upped the difficulty just a little bit, it would have been perfect. Yoshi's Crafted World in turn wasn't quite as good as Woolly World but still plenty enjoyable.
I also still can't believe Mario and Yoshi starred in their own little first-person shooter using that humongous bazooka. I still have that Super Scope too, it's so epic and I love it. The only real bad games here, are Yoshi Topsy Turvy, and Yoshi's New Island. All the others are at least avarage games, which isn't necessarily bad, but there's certainly at the [i]very] least two absolute gems among these.
Here's to many more years of enjoyable Yoshi content! Whether it's his own games, or going along with Mario in his adventures (so long as he doesn't dunk the poor dino into pits or lava or whatever), I'll happily enjoy any adventure that they have Yoshi tag along for. GO GO YOSHI!!~ ♪
@Kadmario Such an adorable game, too! Poochy and the pups are too cute!
I realized how much some of the stages are perfectly suited for co-op, like the one where you have to knock out the gophers. Having infinite eggs (via co-op) makes that level much easier to 100%.
there was actualy one good yoshi game, yoshi island. the only one thats has diverse worlds like caves etc.
the other ones look all the same and abit basic. i have to say wooly world on wii-u
was ok, but i have a feeling nintendo does not take these games seriously, like they dont want to spend too much time on it.
I love the colour changing yoshis in Mario tennis on GameCube
That 1993 Yoshi is saying ‘It’s like I’m wearing nothing at all! Nothing at all! Nothing at all!’
"Yoshi Touch and Go"
I don't think yoshi ONLY commited tax fraund. He is around small children all the time now that I think about it...
Okay I'll leave now
There is one Yoshi missing: the one from the 1993 Super Mario Bros movie that never existed... OK, I see why it isn't in the list.
I always knew it was a shell.
Oh poor Yoshi always gets in trouble
