Common Name Duveen's Encyclia [Orchid Enthusiast in Brazil late 1900's]

Flower Size 1.4" [3.5 cm]

Found in Minas Gerais state of Brazil on rocks at elevations of 600 to 1500 meters as a small to medium sized, cool growing epiphyte with conic-elongate, rounded, funnel-shaped basally pseudobulbs enveloped in youth by imbricating, deciduous sheaths and carrying 2, coriaceous, smooth, narrowly lanceolate, cymbidiform, obtuse, becoming conduplicate below into the clasping base leaves that blooms in the later spring and summer on a terminal, erect, paniculate, to 4'2" [125 cm] long, to 25 flowered inflorescence with about half the flowers open at a time.
