Banksy in New York: See the Street Artist’s Five-Borough Residency
"An inflatable throw-up on the Long Island Expressway" on October 31st, 2013. Two would be thieves were arrested trying to steal the large graffiti style balloons that spelled out Banky's name, the last of his month long New York residency. When asked what they were planning on doing with the work, one of the handcuffed men responded, "Take it home and put it up. Banksy New York!"

Yankee Stadium
Image Credit: Banksy A leopard like cat lounges on a pole at Yankee Stadium in the Bronx on October 30th, 2013. This piece, entitled "Bronx Zoo," is located at Macombs Dam Bridge and Jerome Avenue, and contains everything from a peace sign to a shout out to fellow street artist Cope in the multi-layered pattering. The title of the piece is undoubtably a reference to the 1972-1981 Yankees, who were known as the Bronx Zoo because of all the fighting between George Steinbrenner, Billy Martin and Reggie Jackson.

23rd Street

It's a thrift store painting that was vandalized then re-donated to the thrift store Housing Works. The piece, which is of a Nazi soldier painted into a landscape oil painting, is titled "The banality of the banality of evil" and has been put up by for auction in order to raise money for the New York-based non-profit. The painting went for over $300,000.

Coney Island

The pigeon and robot, who's doing some spray painting of his own, are located on a building that was once a convenience store but was shut down on account of Hurricane Sandy. The owner was not aware of Banksy's work before it graced his property, but he has since put up plexi-glass in order to preserve and protect it.

A tagger attempted to deface the piece but was stopped by the angry crowd. The building's owner has since put up plexiglass and a rolling metal gate.
