Timur, Chi, T, Samilia, Tangram and Samil M Another masterpiece of Disney! Rated 5 out of 5 stars 05/06/24 Full Review João S O filme não tem história, apenas tem história nos últimos minutos de filme. Um filme nada infantil, apenas com cenas sem graça Rated 2 out of 5 stars 02/25/24 Full Review Jeff M I seriously don't understand how anyone could possibly go deer hunting after watching this movie. In my mind, the death of Bambi's mother remains the single most disturbing event ever portrayed in a Disney animated film. In fact, watching it for the first time in decades this weekend, I spent the first half of the movie with a knot in my stomach counting down the minutes till the fateful event occurred. Actually, the first half of this movie is pretty much perfect - among the best Disney has offered. Unfortunately, the film loses a bit of momentum once Bambi grows up and his hormones start raging. Bambi is a much more interesting character as a wobbly fawn than an antler-yielding buck. Thankfully, a beautiful circle of life ending leaves things on a high note. Overall, it's a beautiful, surprisingly moving film, but just not quite the masterpiece I remembered it being as a child. And what was the first thing I said to myself as THE END flashed across the screen? "Boy, humans suck!" Rated 4 out of 5 stars 02/11/24 Full Review Matthew M I haven't watched Bambi since I was a kid and I actually really enjoyed it. It's one of the most beautifully animated Disney movies and has such a charm to it. It's the perfect runtime too, it doesn't drag. It's not one of the more exciting watches but is still a very enjoyable watch. It's a sad yet charming classic that still holds up. Rated 3.5 out of 5 stars 12/09/23 Full Review Nick S it was alright. Nothing spectacular. Decently watchable, maybe a bit traumatic to show it to my child which kind of beats the purpose of it. Not much education either. Interesting animation. Rated 3 out of 5 stars 11/30/23 Full Review Emery A Without a doubt the best cartoon for a child to watch, the nature scenes are so beautiful that they enchant, it is innocent, fun and touching, it talks about the maturation of a newborn deer until adulthood and addresses the tragedy in a delicate way without taking away the innocence of the film. Manny Farber The New Republic The bogus art which has been creeping into the Disney pictures is really hammered at you in this one. Jun 16, 2016 Full Review Steven D. Greydanus Decent Films One of the most timeless and universal coming-of-age films ever, Bambi ranks with the very greatest of Disney's classic masterpieces. Rated: A+ Oct 29, 2008 Full Review Jonathan Rosenbaum Chicago Reader This animated feature based on Felix Salten's book about the coming of age of a fawn and his various forest friends (including the beloved Thumper) does convey some of the primal emotional power of Disney's features during this period. Sep 3, 2008 Full Review Carson Timar ButteredPopcorn Disney starts to reach for a higher thesis but ultimately falls short, they will eventually find the nuance they clearly were looking for here in future films, but sadly Bambi just starts to scratch the surface of what they were ultimately looking for. Rated: C+ Aug 28, 2022 Full Review Danielle Solzman Solzy at the Movies Even though Bambi is sanitized for a younger audience, the film itself is still one of the best animated movies of all time.
