Rui Patricio injured, could miss match against USA

Things continue to get worse for Portugal, who could be without their starting goalkeeper against the United States.

Portugal could be without starting goalkeeper Rui Patrício when they face the United States on June 22, according to Gonçalo Lopes.

There's no word on exactly what the injury is, so it's difficult to speculate on his status for Sunday just yet, but considering Portugal's other problems, it's not good.

Portugal will definitely be missing central defender Pepe, after he was shown a straight red card for a head butt on Germany's Thomas Müller. They may also be without fullback Fabio Coentrão, who was stretched off in the second half after appearing to injure his groin. That means if Patrício is out, Portugal could be missing two of their first-choice defenders and their first-choice goalkeeper.

If Patrício can't go, Portugal head coach Paulo Bento will either go with Sevilla's Beto or FC Basel's Eduardo Carvalho in net.
