West Bromwich Albion have completed the signing of Greece international Georgios Samaras. The 29-year-old forward was released by Scottish champions Celtic at the end of last season, paving the way for his return to the Premier League. He has prior experience in England with Manchester City, scoring eight goals in 54 appearances for the Blues between 2006 and 2008.

Samaras is capable of playing both out on the left wing and as a centre-forward, though has tended to be deployed in the former both domestically and internationally. He's certainly not a traditional winger, as he's tall and not especially quick, though his hold-up play and surprisingly good technical ability means he's a pretty handy target man.
He's the Baggies' second attacking reinforcement of the summer, after Nigerian striker Brown Ideye joined from Dynamo Kyiv for a club-record transfer fee.
