Recognize that toned beauty on the left?

That's actress Tricia Helfer, star of the new ABC TV show, Killer Women, which premiered last night.

[Ed note: If you're a proud Sci-Fi nerd like me, you probably already worship Tricia from her Battlestar Galactica days. -JR]

The female-centric show follows Tricia's character, Molly, a ballsy Texas Ranger who's fresh out of a terrible marriage and eager to solve crimes, get back in touch with her family, and, of course, find a little love in the process.

We love a good crime show here at SELF, but another reason why we're hooked? The show is produced by SELFy friend, Sofia Vergara!

Tricia took some time out of her lunchbreak while shooting in Albuquerque, NM, to answer our very SELFy Questionnaire.

1. If I could only do one workout, I'd...

...run or hike (I'm a heavy-duty hiker) with some calisthenics as well -- you have to tone up, too. But there always has to be some cardio involved. You gotta get your heart rate going. [To keep things fresh] I mix up my workouts: One day [I'll do] yoga, one day's running and weights, one day I'm doing Pilates, one day's hiking.

2. I can't stop moving when ______ comes on my iPod.

It's embarrassing to say that I've never filled an iPod with music! I'm technologically challenged. But I would say if I'm trying to listen to music, I'd probably put on some kind of Cake or Kid Rock. Maybe Eminem.

I'll play a TV show when I'm working out, usually -- unless I'm filming in which case I'm memorizing a script. On the treadmill, I'll watch a show that I want to pay attention to like The Bridge or Justified or The Good Wife. But if I'm doing Pilates or boxing, I'll watch something like Criminal Minds -- you could be upside down or your head backwards on the reformer and still understand what's going on.

3. When I need extra motivation, I tell myself...

...that I'm fortunate to be able to work out and plenty of people can't. Like when I envision my grandfather and how hard it is for him to even move around, I think, "You know what? Not only is it gonna help you move around when you're older if you stay active when you're younger, but you're also gonna have a better shot at getting old if you're working out."

4. I'm dying to try...

...more kickboxing. I did study kickboxing briefly for a Battlestar Galactica fight scene, actually. And it's an insane workout. It's really good for toning your ass, thighs and hamstrings.

5. After a great workout, I feel...

...slightly depleted, but fully alive.

6. When hunger strikes at 3 PM, I go for...

...sliced apple with almond butter.. Either that or I will sometimes crave tuna salad. I cut it up with a little bit of mayonnaise, dill pickles, and pepperoncinis and eat it with hummus and gluten-free crackers. I love a good roasted garlic hummus.

7. If I only have 15 minutes for dinner, I...

...chop up a mixed salad with some cut-up fake turkey. I don't eat poultry or meat but I really like some of those vegetarian "Smart" meats -- I really like the fake turkey slices. My cat is insane about 'em, too! And for a dressing -- red wine vinegar, olive oil, dijon mustard, and a little salt and pepper. It's as easy as that.

8. I'm at the drugstore and have $20. I'm buying...

...cotton balls, makeup-remover towelettes (Ponds or Garnier -- whatever I see first), and Q-Tips. My skin has taken a beating from my crazy shooting schedule.

9. Sunday mornings at 11 AM, you'll find me...

...probably about to go on a hike. All my cats would be fed. And I would have had a protein smoothie and a green tea almond latte and I would be about ready to go on a two-hour hike. Or if it's a beautiful day, I may be out riding motorbikes all day and I will have already been on a bike for 4 hours! It depends.

10. No one knows that I...

...have never skied in my life! I grew up in Alberta, Canada, fairly close to the Rocky Mountains, but my dad heard too many stories of people blowing out their knees and stuff. But I love snowshoeing. So if i'm gonna go out, I'll put on snow shoes and bundle up and I actually prefer that. But no, I've never once skied in my life.

Catch Tricia in Killer Women Tuesdays on ABC at 10PM. Promo for the next episode below, for your viewing pleasure.
