As the owner of the mega-successful Dylan's Candy Bar, Dylan Lauren knows a thing or two about living a sweet life. When the warm summer months roll around, Lauren loves to get out of the gym and bring her workout routine outdoors!

"When spending time in Montauk, my husband and I go for long bike rides on a tandem. We go up and down steep hills and scenic backroads roads with beautiful views of nice homes, gardens or the surf waves. It's fun because we can talk and vent while we are challenging one another to do sprints up the hills.

On really hot days, I try to motivate friends and family to come into the pool for an aqua jogging session which I teach. Aqua jogging is a great way to avoid the impact of regular walking or jogging on land. This is especially beneficial for those who have joint pain or who are healing from an injury. My classes are an hour and combine an anaerobic and aerobic workout. I start the class in the shallow water and then change the water depth as I go, increasing and decreasing resistance, speed and and impact. I combine approximately twenty different movements so there's never any room for boredom.

This summer I am thrilled to be opening my first West Coast store at the Original Farmer's Market in Los Angeles. Naturally, I have been spending a lot of time traveling back and forth to check out the progress of the store design. While I'm in LA I always make time for my favorite activity which is hiking. The trails in California are amazing, as they are always challenging and I never get bored from all the beautiful scenery. One of my favorites to jog or hike is Runyon Canyon, especially because I'm motivated by finding so many cute dogs along the way."
