Barcelona forward Alexis Sanchez is set to reject Manchester United, after reportedly closing in on a £16 million move to Juventus, according to the Daily Express.

Sanchez scored 19 goals for Barcelona in La Liga last year, but new manager Luis Enrique is willing to let the 25-year-old leave Camp Nou as part of his overhaul of the squad, which has already seen Cesc Fabregas sold to Chelsea.

The Italian champions have an agreement in place with Sanchez, but have yet to come to terms with Barcelona on the transfer fee. Barcelona had wanted £20 million for the forward, who can play on either flank or up front, but Juventus were only offering £12-14 million. A compromise fee of £16 million appears to be acceptable to both parties.

Louis van Gaal had hoped to bring the Sanchez to Old Trafford, and viewed the attacker as one of his main transfer targets, but Sanchez is not attracted to the idea of living in England, and he wants to be playing Champions League football.

Sanchez is currently in Brazil with the Chile squad, and he scored and got an assist in their opening game against Australia.
