Stoke City goalkeeper looks likely to be coach's first choice

Manchester City's Edin Dzeko has been named in Bosnia-Herzegovina's provisional World Cup squad. Dzeko, fresh from winning the Premier League title, is in a 24-man squad who will have to be reduced to 23 players by 2 June.

Bosnia, who will be making their first appearance at a major championship, have also picked the Stoke City goalkeeper Asmir Begovic in their initial line-up.

Bosnia face Argentina, Nigeria and Iran in Group F and their coach, Safet Susic, believes his team can advance into the knockout stages. "Our goal is to qualify for the round of 16," he said.

Midfielders: Miralem Pjanic (Roma), Izet Hajrovic (Galatasaray), Mensur Mujdza (Freiburg), Haris Medunjanin (Gaziantepspor), Senad Lulic (Lazio), Anel Hadzic (Sturm), Tino Susic (Hajduk), Sejad Salihovic (Hoffenheim), Zvjezdan Misimovic (Guizhour Renhe), Senijad Ibricic (Erciyesspor), Avdija Vrsaljevic (Hajduk)
