House of the Day: Russell House by Erich Mendelsohn
Russell House was designed by German-born Modernist architect Erich Mendelsohn and completed in 1951. Located in San Francisco, it is the only residential work in the United States by Mendelsohn, and was one of the final projects he worked on before his death in 1953.
The elevated property is designed over four floors and features a striking circular seating area within the master bedroom which protrudes out from the main structure and offers spectacular views across the San Francisco Bay.
