LIVE - Brazil 1, Chile 1: Gary Medel leaves match with injury
Reuters
Chile seem like they are more than happy holding out for penalties, but they will have to do so without their most influential defender.
Gary Medel was forced to leave the match on a stretcher in the opening minutes of the second half of extra time, simply unable to stand anymore after putting in an incredible amount of work on an already injured leg.
He was replaced by Jose Rojas.
It was a wonder that Medel managed to last this long, as there were concerns that he wouldn't be able to even start the match due to a muscle injury.
The heavy bandaging covering his left thigh was a sight to behold.
