Ex-Livingston boss David Hopkin to hold more talks with Bradford City over taking charge at Valley Parade

The former Chelsea star has held initial talks with the Yorkshire club and is set to make a decision when he returns from holiday

DAVID HOPKIN will fly back from his family holiday to hold more talks about becoming the new Bradford City boss.

The former Bantams star has already spoken to the Valley Parade club about the vacancy after leading Livingston back to the Premiership.

Bradford’s German owners were impressed by the way Hopkin did that on a tight budget and want him to do something similar for them.

But the free agent wanted time to consider his options after also speaking to Carlisle and Shrewsbury.

Meanwhile, former Rangers star Kenny Miller has refused to rule out the possibility of taking on a player-manager role at Livi.

SunSport revealed last week that the West Lothian outfit were considering Miller to replace Hopkin.

And he has admitted the chance does intrigue him.

He said: "It’s something that does intrigue me. Anybody that knows me, knows I want to go into management eventually.

“Talks needs to happen because you need to know exactly what the job entails.

“If there’s a system in place with people behind the scenes making decisions that maybe takes a little bit of pressure off the manager.

“I want to be a manager one day, but at the moment I still want to play. That’s the thing at the forefront of my mind.
