And in doing so he continued to justify his billing as 'the next Neymar' in South America as he closes in on his move to Europe this summer.

Real Madrid have already agreed a £38million deal to sign Vinicius when he turns 18 on July 12 after winning the race for his signature.

The Spanish giants believe he has the potential to become the next superstar of football - and his display against Ecuadorean side Emelec showed why.

Vinicius was handed his Copa Libertadores debut last night when he was introduced as a 68th minute substitute with Flamengo trailing 1-0.

Within ten minutes he had announced himself on South America's biggest club competition with a stunning solo goal.

The youngster collected the ball out wide on the edge of the area and jinked past the Elmenec defenders before lifting his shot home for the equaliser.

Vinicius was not done there, as he made Elmenec pay for giving him the freedom of the park while they pushed forward looking for a winner themselves.

With five minutes left he drove forward to the edge of the area, played a quick one-two and curled his left-footed shot round the keeper into the far corner.

That goal sparked huge celebrations among the Flamengo squad, and Vinicius capped them off by producing a pair of shades from nowhere.

The teenager put them on, with only one lens fitted, to pose for the cameras while he was mobbed the rest of the Flamengo side.

His two-goals in 22 minutes ensured the Brazilian club secured their first Copa Libertadores win of the season, putting them top of the group on four points from two matches.

They also face River Plate from Argentina and Colombian side Santa Fe in Group D, who both have a point from one match so far.
