Neymar camp blast FAKE NEWS over claim PSG ace ‘begged’ Barcelona to take him back ‘five times’

The Brazil international's father has attacked the report originally published by El Mundo on Friday which made the allegation

NEYMAR has not asked to leave Paris Saint-Germain and return to Barcelona on five separate occasions, according the player's father.

El Mundo reported on Friday that the Brazil international is unhappy with life at the Parc des Princes less than two years on from his £198million move from the Nou Camp.

The publication quoted Neymar Snr saying his son is "disappointed and sorry" and that the forward believes PSG lack a "sporting project".

Having already won four trophies in 18 months in the French capital Neymar has enjoyed no shortage of success but continues to have an emotional attachment to Barca - with his first demand to return allegedly coming as early as last season.

But on Instagram his father has posted a screenshot of a rewritten version of the aforementioned story - published by globoesporte.com - with the label "fake news" plastered across.

An further post includes the slogan "insane news" written over a video of a child laughing at various accounts of the story online.

Amid speculation Philippe Coutinho could leave Barcelona just a year on from joining from Liverpool, reports have suggested his sale could be used to finance the return of Neymar to the Catalan giants.

But former Barca man Andres Iniesta does not expect the Brazil international to have a second spell with the La Liga leaders.

He said: "Personally, I see it difficult for him to return, but in football I've seen a hundred thousand things.

"If he came back, I've always said for years that he's currently one of the best players in the world.  And what team would not like to have him. But I cannot imagine him back at Barca."
