BIG Brother twins Sam and Amanda Marchant shot to fame on the show's 2007 series - where they jointly came second.

The blonde bombshells appeared on season eight of original Big Brother and their lives soon changed dramatically.

The pair were the first set of twins to appear on the show, which then aired on Channel 4, and were very popular with viewers.

Placed runners-up behind Brian Belo, they also hold another record as the only housemates ever to reach the end of a series without being nominated for eviction.

After leaving the Big Brother house, they released their cover of Aqua hit Barbie Girl which entered the charts at number 26.

In 2008, the girls released a follow-up single called Honey Love which bombed at number 125.

Before they shot to fame, the girls were social-care students at Manchester Metropolitan University but they have very different careers now.

Back then, they had their own fragrances and skincare range called Samanda by Young and Pure, which was part of a £150,000 deal to creare a natural product lines for teens.

They released a fitness DVD called Samanda - The Twins: Dance Workout in 2008 and were signed as the faces of Hello Kitty's social networking site.

While they weren't asked to take part in Ultimate Big Brother back in 2010, they did return for a shopping task.

It's believed the pair earned a whopping £1million from a range of deals and spent £500,000 on a swanky two-bedroom London flat before leaving the world of showbiz.

16 years on since they first appeared on our screens, the 35-year-olds now have very different lives.

Both busy mums nowadays, they have private social media accounts.

Before welcoming her first child, Samantha worked as a senior sales manager at a creative fashion agency and she's now a development executive at Silverpoint Pictures.

Amanda has retained her job as an ASOS merchandiser.

It turns out they're not the only castmembers from series eight with careers worlds away from fame.

Winner Brian now states his profession as Co Director at Yoghurt Productions on his LinkedIn, specialising in television formats and film manuscripts.

Liam McGough is back doing what he loves and runs his own tree services company.

He also dabbles in documentary making and creates and designs tree houses.

He apparently worked as a doorman at Paper club in London's Soho.

Ziggy Lichman also tried his hand at running several eateries in London, including a Pan Asian restaurant called The Shop in Kensal Rise.

Following her brief spell on the reality show, Kara-Louise Horne ducked out of the limelight and qualified as a teacher.

She now lives with her son in Harrow, London, and works at a nearby school.
