BRODY Jenner isn't close to the Kardashians "because he was unable to build a relationship with Kris".
Brody's dad, Caitlyn, married the Kardashian matriarch in 1991 - when Brody was just eight years old.
A source has now claimed that Caitlyn's relationship with her son from her first marriage to Linda Thompson has been strained ever since.
They told HollywoodLife: "Brody still holds on to a lot of hurt feelings and resentment towards the Kardashians."
They went on to say that despite trying to build a relationship with Kris he was never able to - and this impacted his bond with half sisters Kendall and Kylie Jenner.
Brody, 36, has been open about his difficult relationship with Caitlyn in the past.
He previously said: "I didn’t really grow up with my dad.
"When I was really little, we got to spend a little bit of time.
"But when he started the family with the Kardashian family and all that, I didn’t really see much of him."
He also claimed that just as he was getting to know his father in 2015, Caitlyn transitioned - and she became a "totally different" person.
Caitlyn, who is taking part in the upcoming series of I'm A Celeb, had been married three times before transitioning and has six children.
Her first wife was Chrystie Scott, with whom she shares Burt and Cassandra.
They were married from 1972 until 1981, with Caitlyn marrying Linda in that same year - they also have two children, Brandon and Brody.
They split in 1986, and Caitlyn married Kris in 1991.

She acted as stepfather to Kris' children from her previous marriage, Kourtney, Kim, Khloe, and Rob Kardashian, and they also had two daughters - Kendall and Kylie.
Caitlyn and Kris broke up in 2014, with the divorce being finalised the following year, which is when Caitlyn came out as transgender.
The Kardashians have always been distant from their Jenner step-siblings, although Kendall and Kylie are fully-established members of the family's reality TV series and celebrity lives.
