Superman star Dean Cain steps out after years out of the limelight

IS it a bird? Is it a plane? No, It's Dean Cain.

The former Superman heartthrob looked worlds away from the character that launched him to fame in the 90s.

The actor, who's best known for playing the protagonist in Lois & Clark: The New Adventures of Superman, was spotted strolling around Washington, D.C. over the weekend.

He looked happy and relaxed in a casual polo shirt over a T-shirt and a poppy to mark US Memorial Day on Monday.

The 51-year old still sported the luscious locks that won the legions of teenage hearts in the 90s.

The Superman star is recognised by most as character Clark Kent, but he's since gone on to host Ripley's Believe It Or Not! and appeared in soap opera Hit The Floor.

The Princeton-educated actor featured in Channel 4's The Jump in 2016.

But it wasn't his taking-part that hit the headlines.

Dean and fellow participant Rebecca Adlington caused a furore when they were reported to have spent late night trysts together amidst the collapse of her 18-month marriage.

An insider at the time said: “Dean and Becky were friends right from day one, when they
were introduced at the first preliminary meetings for the show.

“As the weeks went by, they only grew closer. They were constantly in and
out of each other’s rooms at night after training finished.

“They made no attempt to hide their closeness. It was considered an open
secret among the cast and crew.”
