Sylvain GBOHOUO HEIR OF KIDIABA

February 13, 2015

No great team without a great goalkeeper. TP Mazembe adopted this principle and Robert KIDIABA, its current goalkeeper, is the heir of Robert KAZADI and Paul KALAMBAYI... These goalkeepers like Robert helped to write the most beautiful pages of TPM history. The hardest when they take a big goalkeeper is to find him a successor when the time of retirement is announced. In recruiting Sylvain GBOHOUO, Mazembe has probably found an excellent response to the problem. It will have in any case a top goalkeeper workforce.

The semi-final of the AFCON 2015 Wednesday pitted two goalkeepers which will be found very soon in Kamalondo. Robert KIDIABA, 39 since 1st February, he announced that he was taking a much-deserved international retirement. Semi-finalist in the competition, the great Robert added a new line to his prestigious list.

In front of him, Sylvain GBOHOUO, the last bastion of the Elephants, African champion since Sunday 8th February. He has filled in the gap that many technicians evoked to explain some Ivorian failures: the lack of a major goalkeeper. Barry COPA (in final line-up result of Sylvain injury), despite his excellent reading of the game, easily overcame the handicap of his size (1.80 m)

The arrival of Sylvain, from the top of 1,90 meter (for 82 pounds) led the Elephants to feed new ambitions. The Cerberus of Séwéof San Pedro, three times champion of Ivory Coast (2012, 2013, 2014) and finalist in the CAF Cup 2014 is mature. At 26 (born October 29, 1988), Sylvain is part of modern goalkeepers with impressive build.

Sylvain GBOHOUO has signed a five year contract with TP Mazembe who has already received his International Transfer Certificate. At TPM, failing to see the trio KIDIABA-KIMWAKI-KASUSULA be crowned, we comfort by hosting a duo GBOHOUO ASSALE African champion...
