FC Dinamo Moskva have spent a reported €5m on Bosnia and Herzegovina midfielder Zvjezdan Misimović ahead of the start of the Russian Premier-Liga season at the weekend.

The 28-year-old attacking player has signed a three-year contract and arrives after an unhappy spell at Galatasaray AŞ. Misimović had moved to Turkey last August after a two-season stay at VfL Wolfsburg, where he scored 17 goals in Bundesliga 65 games and helped the club win the German title in 2008/09.

"I liked the fact Dinamo are a club with bright future and that they want to play attacking football," said Misimović, who discussed the switch with Dinamo's former Bundesliga players: "I spoke to Kevin Kuranyi and Marko Lomić and they told me a lot of good things about my new team. After that I had a feeling I had to accept Dinamo's offer."

Born in Munich to Bosnian parents, former FC Bayern München, VfL Bochum 1848 and 1. FC Nürnberg man Misimović made his debut for Bosnia and Herzegovina in 2004 and is now the most-capped player in the country's history, having registered 16 goals in 55 internationals. Dinamo begin their Premier League campaign with a derby at FC Lokomotiv Moskva on Saturday.
