Welcome to character analysis!
This is where I take a bunch of South Park characters and ruin the sweet and innocent characteristics, and turn them into little demons. I'm kidding, I'm not doing that intentionally, I'm just taking South Park characters and sharing my views and how I think their character is.
Starting with the main boy: Stanley Marsh

Oh there is a lot to discuss about this kid and I'm sure that surprises you. Many people think that Stan is boring and just not too good of a character to even talk about, but I'm going to prove you wrong. Stan is probably the most normal kid in the show but does that really say much? South Park is freaking crazy so being the most normal doesn't make you sane but I digress. I have a lot to talk about Stan, so let's begin.

Stan is the leader of the main four (Stan Marsh, Kyle Broflovski, Eric Cartman and Kenny McCormick) He is strong minded, sensitive and is overall a nice person. He has a lot in common with his best friend, Kyle Broflovski, until season five, it seemed that these two characters were the exact same.

In seasons five and on, Stan started to become more cynical and annoyed of critical of the things around him

In seasons five and on, Stan started to become more cynical and annoyed of critical of the things around him. Such as in the episode titled "Super Best Friends" Stan is the only one who sees past the cult and leaves, leaving his friends behind. He saw that something really wasn't right with this new group, while Kyle stays behind. The rest of the episode contains Stan working with the leaders of religion to save Kyle and everyone else, from the cult. This episode was one of the first to show that Stan is quick to do what he believes in and is often more brash than Kyle.  He goes through great lengths to do what he thinks is right or getting what he believes is rightfully is. Such as in "The Passion of the Jew" Stan convinces Kenny to get their money back from Mel Gibson, after seeing his horrible movie " The Passion of the Christ"

Stan also is very passionate about animal rights and just anything else, will stand up to do what he thinks is right for the animals. A very good example of this, is in the episode "Fun with veal" Stan and his classmates visit a farm in which they are shown a bunch of baby cows, chained up and ready to be killed. Stan is appalled by this and immediately has the idea to save them. He convinces, Kyle, Cartman and Butters, to follow his lead and bring the cows to his house. Everything goes out of hand as Stan refuses to eat meat and the boys go against their parents, just so the cows would be safe. The episode ends with the cows being saved and Stan in the hospital so he wouldn't become a giant vagina. Stan's love for animals can make him seem as crazy the rest of the town, but he may be the sanest person in the town.
