Emergency appeal - Humanitarian crisis in Sahel region of Africa

Overview

The Sahel crisis is one of the fastest growing yet most forgotten crises in the world. The region is facing unprecedented humanitarian needs due to armed conflict, food insecurity, climate change, disease, loss of livelihoods and political instability , with more than 33 million people in need of lifesaving assistance. WHO issued an appeal (June 2022) highlighting urgent response priorities to improve access to essential health services for more than 10 million people in areas affected by the protracted humanitarian crisis in the Sahel across Burkina Faso, Cameroon (Far-North), Chad, Mali, Niger, and Nigeria, with  resource requirement at US$62.7 million.
