The Daily Prophet

The Daily Prophet

The Daily Prophet was the UK's national wizarding newspaper where the community could catch up on the latest stories.

Like Muggle newspapers, the Daily Prophet had regular features, news and competitions, including a Grand Prize Galleon Draw - once won by Arthur Weasley. Unlike Muggle newspapers, the publication came with magical, moving photography across its pages.

Although The Daily Prophet was by far the most popular newspaper, it had a tendency to be influenced by the Ministry of Magic at times, with journalists such as Rita Skeeter known to exaggerate her interviews with a Quick-Quotes Quill. Other publications, such as The Quibbler, offered a more alternative approach to the wizarding world.
