The number 12 has won all there is to win over the course of the 462 games he has played in his 12-year stint at the club. His trophy haul as a Whites player features 19 pieces of silverware: four Champions League crowns, three Club World Cups, three UEFA Super Cups, four LaLiga titles, two Copa del Reys and three Spanish Super Cups. The Brazilian reflected on the years he's spent with the European champions: "When I look back it makes me really excited. My family have grown up here and I'm really happy. Since I've been at Real Madrid, the club has taught me a lot of special things, like how to become a better player. It's been 12 years of great joy and this is a day of celebration because I've spent my whole life at the best club in the world. I want to thank Real Madrid and all of those who have supported me throughout all of these years". "I LOOK BACK AND THERE'S NOT A THING I WANT TO FORGET" When asked about his crowning moment, Marcelo was in little doubt: "I look back and there's not a thing I want to forget. It's a great thrill to tell my children about the history I've created at Real Madrid. The titles, the victories and the games in which I've won the respect of the Real Madrid fans will remain with me forever. I wake up every day feeling so much joy because everyone wants to be in my shoes, playing for the best club in the world and I've got the privilege of doing so. Pulling on this shirt is enough to keep your ambition intact". He still holds vivid memories of his club debut, aged 18: "I was really nervous and raring to get out there and play. There were a lot of stars when I joined the club and it was a special day. I watch that game back a lot because it was my very first game for the best club in the world". Marcelo enjoys a brilliant relationship with the supporters, he's a firm fans' favourite and has felt the affection of the madridistas throughout his time at the club: "I want to thank all of those who have backed me and believed in me. I always give my all for this badge and for you, the fans. I'm really happy and this is one of the best days of my life".

His emergence in the Real Sociedad first team was just as meteoric as his rise in the national team. In March 2017, he made his bow for the Spain Under-21s in a game against Denmark, an encounter in which he claimed two assists. In October of the same year, he recorded his first assist for the senior team, laying on a goal in the match against Albania. Julen Lopetegui handed him his debut and also named him in the squad for the Russia World Cup. In one of the warm-up games for the tournament, he netted his maiden goal for the national team, a stunning volley from the edge of the area against Switzerland. In the first few months of his Real Madrid career he has already showcased his immense quality. The San Sebastián-born wing-back stands out on account of his speed, ability to go past his man and get up and down the flank.
Following his brace in the trip to Viktoria Plzen in the teams' Champions League Matchday 4 encounter, Karim Benzema brought his tally of competitive goals in a Real Madrid shirt to 201. The French striker is the seventh player in the club's history to surpass the 200-goal mark, following in the footsteps of Cristiano Ronaldo (451), Raúl (323), Di Stéfano (308), Santillana (290), Puska (242) and Hugo Sánchez (208).

Benzema: 200 goals in a Real Madrid shirt
Benzema opened the scoring at the Doosan Arena with a sensational goal that came after a fine piece of individual play, in which he jinked his way past several defenders, before slotting the ball beneath Aleš Hruska. Minutes later he scored the team's third goal of the night, glancing home after connecting with Gareth Bale's header, before almost immediately teeing the Welshman up to net the fourth goal before the break.
After the game, Benzema declared: "I'm really proud of these goals, it's quite some tally and that gives me the confidence to score more. But that's not what it's all about, to be a good striker you've got to be a good footballer. When I take to the pitch, I want to score goals, but I also look to provide assists, defend, attack… Do a forward's job".
Statistics Benzema has been on target for Real Madrid in all of the official competitions he has featured in and his 201 strikes have come across the following competitions: 131 in LaLiga, 47 in the Champions League, 17 in the Copa del Rey, three in the Club World Cup, two in the Spanish Super Cup and one in the UEFA Super Cup.
The French frontman is the seventh player in the club's history to surpass the 200-goal mark

Historic
Real Madrid travelled to Balaídos on Matchday 38 of the 1995/96 campaign to face Celta Vigo. In the goal that we relive in this feature, Zamorano exhibited one of his specialties: headed goals. The Chilean got above his man to power home a headed effort from around the penalty spot to hand Real Madrid the lead.
In this month's instalment of Historic Goals, the star of the show is Iván Zamorano. The Chilean checked in at Real Madrid in 1992 on the back of two fine seasons with Sevilla, during which he showcased his predatory instincts. A fox in the box, Zamarano stood out on account of his power in the air, despite not being particularly tall.
The Madrid hitman was blessed with great predatory instincts and heading was a special strength. Zamorano wasn't a particularly tall player (179m), but his powerful legs enabled him to remain in the air for longer than opposing defenders. Some of the most stunning goals he scored in each of his seasons in Spanish football came in the air.
Zamorano clocked up 173 appearances for the Whites and scored 101 goals during a four-season stint at the club. The Chilean captured three pieces of silverware during his Real Madrid career: one LaLiga title, a Copa del Rey crown and a Spanish Super Cup. On top of this, he also won the Pichichi Award as a Real Madrid player, courtesy of his 28-goal haul in the 1994/95 campaign.
