Former Flying Eagles’ Captain, Ramon Azeez has expressed his optimism at securing a return back into the National team set up after impressive form at Spanish Segunda side CD Lugo.

The former Almeria midfielder, Azeez who spoke to Anthony Bekederemo on inside La Liga earlier today, revealed his delight at making the best decision at joining the second division side CD Lugo in Spain.

“My decision to sign for Lugo despite being a small city is the best for me, The city is small but they are a great city to represent”. Azeez told Brila.net.

The 24-year-old central midfielder has added goalscoring to his duties after netting on the stroke of half-time when he received a lovely pass from Fede Vico to slot past Jokin Ezkieta in the Barcelona goal for one of his two CD Lugo goals.

“It was a great one for me to score my first goal of the season and I was also happy we won the match. Hopefully, I will score more goals and lead the team to the Premiere Division next season.

“We are taking the games one after the other now, our position on the log presently doesn’t count, but we will keep doing our job and we will see what happen at the end of the season”.

The young lad also gave his views on the Super Eagles’ game against Zambia, saying he believes in the ability of the current crop of players in the team to get the job done.

The Brazil 2014 World Cup star also added that even though it might be a bit tough for him, he still hopes to get invited to play for the Super Eagles in the nearest future.

“I was at the World Cup in 2014 and it was a lovely experience for me and I hope I can still play in many more World Cups for the Super Eagles in the future.

“I have not ruled out the possibilities of playing for Nigeria again as I am always available to give my best to the team any time I am called upon and I am very optimistic that the current coach of the Super Eagles knows what is best for his team and hopefully, if I continue my impressive form, I might also get a look-in for the team.

Ramon Azeez was part of late Stephen Keshi’s squad to the 2014 World Cup in Brazil and started in the Super Eagles’ opening game against Iran.
