Maksim Kanunnikov is a forward of Amkar. He was born on 14 July 1991 in Nizhny Tagil, Russia.
Maksim went in for football when a child, first under the guidance of his father, then, at the age of 12, under the guidance of then head coach of Uralets Gennady Babaytsev. Later the player with his family came to St Petersburg on a trial at Zenit. From 2009, Kanunnikov started to perform for the youth team of the club.
At the end of August 2009, then head coach Dick Advocaat resigned and Anatoli Davydov took his place. The new manager asked Maksim to join the main team, where the footballer made his début on 23 August, coming on as a substitute for Fatih Tekke. The first goal of the forward came on 10 May the following year in the game against Amkar.
At the end of July 2010, Kanunnikov made his first appearance in the Champions League, coming on as a substitute in the 80th minute of the match against Unirea Urziceni. In January 2011, the footballer went on loan to Tom Tomsk and fired his first goal for the temporary team in the match against renowned CSKA.
At the beginning of 2012, Maksim came on the field in the 2011/2012 Champions League match at the position of a midfielder, where the player was notable for his spectacular passes. In January 2013 Maksim completed a transfer to Amkar Perm.
