Americans Abroad Wrap: Terrence Boyd and DaMarcus Beasley Score
March 3, 2014Heading into an international break, a number of Americans abroad had a good week, highlighted by goals from Terrence Boyd and DaMarcus Beasley.
Other notable performances came from Oguchi Onyewu, Will Packwood and Aron Johannsson. There's also some good news regarding Stuart Holden's recovery from injury.

The English Premier League Boys
Geoff Cameron took his usual spot at right-back and played 90 minutes as Stoke beat Arsenal 1-0.
Brad Guzan made three saves in Aston Villa's 4-1 win over Norwich.
Tim Howard was in the net for Everton's 1-0 win over West Ham.
Jozy Altidore did not make the 18 for the League Cup final, where Sunderland lost to Manchester City 3-1.
Clint Dempsey started and went the distance in Fulham's 3-1 loss to Chelsea. Dempsey finished as Fulham's lowest-rated player in the match.
Ze Germans
Fabian Johnson played 87 minutes, again at right-back, in Hoffenheim's 6-2 win over Wolfsburg.
Steve Cherundolo, still suffering from knee issues, was not in the 18 for Hannover's 1-1 draw with Augsburg.
Timmy Chandler is also out with a knee injury and missed Nurnberg's 3-0 loss to Borussia Dortmund.
John Anthony Brooks and Hertha Berlin tied Freiburg 0-0, but Brooks did not play.
In Bundesliga 2, Bobby Wood played the final two minutes of 1860 Munich's 0-0 draw with Sandhausen.
Also in the second division, Alfredo Morales started and went the distance in Ingolstadt's 1-1 draw with Dynamo Dresden.
In the English Championship
Oguchi Onyewu was WhoScored.com's Man of the Match in Sheffield Wednesday's 1-0 win over Middlesbrough.
Will Packwood was the highest-rated outfield player for Birmingham in their 1-0 loss to Ipswich. Both he and Jonathan Spector started and went the full 90.
Tim Ream and Bolton beat Blackburn 4-0, with Ream going the distance at left-back. Stuart Danny Williams went the distance for Reading, and Duane Holmes played 73 minutes for Yeovil as the teams drew 1-1.
Holden is expected to feature in the team's U-21 match on Monday.
Brek Shea came on in the 55th minute for Barnsley, but they were whacked by Huddersfield 5-0.
Eric Lichaj, shortly after returning from injury, was forced out of action before halftime with another injury in Nottingham Forest's 4-1 loss to Wigan.
Elsewhere in Europe
Aron Johannsson picked up two assists and was WhoScored.com's Man of the Match in their 4-0 pasting of Waalwijk.
Terrence Boyd got the start for Rapid Vienna and scored a goal, but they lost 6-3 to Red Bull Salzburg (video here).
Alejandro Bedoya played 67 minutes of Nantes 2-0 loss.
Jermaine Jones saw his first action for Besiktas, playing 58 minutes on Friday.
Juan Agudelo didn't make it off the bench for Utrecht in their 1-1 draw with Twente.
Sacha Kljestan did not get off the bench in Anderlecht 2-0 win over Genk.
Conor O’Brien did not get off the bench in OB's 1-0 loss.
Mix Diskerud, Josh Gatt and their respective clubs are still on winter break.
South of the Border
Herculez Gomez and Greg Garza started for Tijuana in their 1-1 draw with Veracruz. Garza went the distance and Gomez came off in the 78th minute. Joe Corona came on as a substitute and played 69 minutes. Paul Arriola and Edgar Castillo were not part of the squad for Tijuana.
Jose Torres came on in the 63rd minute of Tigres' 0-0 draw with Guadalajara.
Michael Orozco started for Puebla, but it was DaMarcus Beasley off the bench that made the difference, as Beasley scored the game-winner in Puebla's 1-0 victory.
Gabriel Farfan came on in the 57th minute of Chiapas' 3-0 loss to Leon.
