Portugal vs. Ghana: Live Player Ratings

Cristiano Ronaldo struck the winner 10 minutes from time, but Portugal still exited the World Cup along with Ghana despite a 2-1 win in Brasilia.

John Boye's own goal gave the Portuguese the lead, Asamoah Gyan then equalised in the second half, but Ronaldo struck the winner following poor defending.

Beto: Hasn't had too much to do but has been a calm influence.

Joao Pereira: Has gotten forward when he's needed to.

Bruno Alves: Needs to keep a closer eye on Gyan's fine movement.

Pepe: Has slotted back in well.

Ruben Amorim: Another who isn't afraid to get forward.

Joao Moutinho: Showed great composure in the build-up to the goal.

William Carvalho: Has looked a little overawed at times. Not showing strength he's capable of.

Miguel Veloso: Devilish cross forced the own goal.

Nani: Disappointing. Seems addicted to overhitting passes.

Eder: Completely anonymous.

Cristiano Ronaldo: Thriving in his central role and unlucky not to score with an effort that hit the bar. Should have scored with a header.

Portugal Second-Half Analysis

Beto: Didn't have a chance with Gyan's goal. Limped off late on.

Joao Pereira: Went off just after the hour mark.

Bruno Alves: Thankful that Pepe has greater movement.

Pepe: Looked like he'd never been away.

Ruben Amorim: Clearly a valuable member of his side but could do more.

Joao Moutinho: Kept things ticking over well.

William Carvalho: Raw and a little erratic at times.

Miguel Veloso: Faded after a decent first half.

Nani: Disappointing. Capable of so much but is so frustrating.

Eder: Very poor.

Cristiano Ronaldo: Should have had three or four goals but took his one ruthlessly.

Silvestre Varela: Had a decent impact when he came on. Always forward-thinking.

Fatawu Dauda: Brilliant save from Ronaldo's header and a brilliant celebration of it.

Harrison Afful: Hasn't stopped crosses.

John Mensah: Needs to take charge more at the back.

John Boye: Erratic. Unlucky with the own goal, but then it almost happened again.

Kwadwo Asamoah: Not getting forward enough.

Mohammed Rabiu: Being overrun by better players.

Emmanuel Agyemang Badu: Not enough of an influence.

Christian Atsu: Lively. Always wanting the ball.

Andre Ayew: Not having enough of an impact. Is better than this.

Majeed Waris: Disappointing and largely anonymous.

Asamoah Gyan: Great movement. His side's best chance of a goal.

Ghana Second-Half Analysis

Fatawu Dauda: He's certainly unique and did well, Will be disappointed with the winner, though.

Harrison Afful: Fairly average display.

John Mensah: Didn't show enough leadership at the back.

John Boye: Deserves praise for getting over the own goal and throwing himself at any Portuguese attacker he could find.

Kwadwo Asamoah: Did exactly what we told him to do at half-time. Got forward and made a goal.

Mohammed Rabiu: Struggled against a high calibre of opposition.

Emmanuel Agyemang Badu: Not enough of an influence again.

Christian Atsu: Wanted the ball. Free to run at defenders but not quite good enough to beat them.

Andre Ayew: Got better the longer the game went on.

Majeed Waris: Missed a great chance to put his side 2-1 up.

Asamoah Gyan: A well-taken goal. Now the World Cup's top-scoring African.

Jordan Ayew: Typically lively.

Afriyie Acquah: Put his foot in.
