The second legs of the last-32 stage in the Copa del Rey continued on Tuesday with Barcelona seeing themselves through with consummate ease against Huesca.

It was goals galore between Valencia and Rayo Vallecano, the former going through after a 4-4 draw, while Celta de Vigo's 3-1 win over Las Palmas was enough for an aggregate victory for the La Liga side.

Real Sociedad, Villarreal and Espanyol all comfortably advanced on Wednesday, and Atletico Madrid took the opportunity to rest some starters in their easy draw on Thursday.

Read on for all the results and a recap of how things played out in the Copa del Rey.

Thursday Recap

Diego Simeone decided to rest several players and the result showed on the pitch, as Atletico Madrid battled to a 2-2 draw against L'Hospitalet, advancing to the quarter-finals on an aggregate score of 5-2.

As shared by AS English, the defending Spanish Champions will meet city rivals Real Madrid in the next round:

So that's the Madrid derby confirmed for the next round. First leg on January 7 and the return leg a week later (to be confirmed)

Mario Mandzukic was handed a surprising start on Thursday, and he answered with two goals to ensure the tie would never be in doubt. His first came after just 17 minutes, as the Croatia international took advantage of a lucky deflection to blast home from close range.

He doubled his tally with a powerful header in the 74th minute, and via OptaJose, his fine performance means he has already scored in every competition he has played in this season:

For their part, the visitors performed admirably and showed a willingness to play with the Spanish champions, and they shocked the Vicente Calderon by scoring an equaliser in the 67th minute. Jan Oblak could do little about Ruben Alcaraz volley, which took a wicked deflection and bounced over him.

Alcaraz wasn't finished, tying things up again with five minutes left to play with a phenomenal strike from range. While Oblak was certainly caught out of position, the ball changed direction several times in the air, making it almost impossible to stop:

Oblak saved his team from embarrassment with this fantastic save in the very last minute of regulation:

Adrian Gonzalez booked Elche's spot in the quarter-finals, scoring the only goal in the team's 1-0 win over Valladolid after the first leg of this tie ended scoreless.

Gonzalez struck after just seven minutes, and as shared by the team's English Twitter feed, it would be enough to set up a date with Catalan giants Barcelona in the next round:

Vamoss!! Elche win 1-0 courtesy of Adrian who scored in the 7th minute, will play @FCBarcelona in the next round.

Borja Viguera's first-half goal was enough to give Athletic Bilbao a 1-0 win over Alcoyano, and while the Basques looked far from convincing over the course of the two fixtures, they will be moving on to the quarter-final.

They'll be joined there by Malaga, who beat Deportivo La Coruna 4-1 to advance with a 5-2 aggregate win. Roque Santa Cruz scored a brace, the second of which set the hosts on their way after Helder Postiga had equalised.

Wednesday Recap

It was another good day for the La Liga sides, as Wednesday's action didn't see a single team from the lower leagues progress to the next stage of the 2014-15 Copa del Rey.

Albacete came closest, facing Levante after playing out a drab 1-1 draw at home. Just a single goal would have seen the Segunda-side knock out the hosts, and Thierry Moutinho had several opportunities to gift his team the lead.

Ultimately, however, Wednesday's match was every bit as dull as the first leg, and even though Albacete were perhaps the better team over both legs, they never really looked like threatening Levante. Les Granotes will play the winner of the match between Deportivo la Coruna and Malaga, according to BeIN Sports' Chris Moar:

Espanyol easily defended their two-goal advantage over Alaves, although the hometown fans will have been hoping for a little more than a 1-0 win on Wednesday. Javi Lopez scored the only goal of the match midway through the second half.

Getafe came into their match against Eibar with a comfortable 3-0 lead, and a shocking upset never looked likely, as the visitors booked their second win in as many tries, beating Eibar 2-1.

This incredible solo effort from Carlos Vigaray rightly stole the headlines:

Villarreal easily took care of Cadiz 3-0, as the Yellow Submarine continue their excellent 2014-15 campaign. Granada held on to their one-goal lead from the first leg and progressed after a 1-1 draw at Cordoba.

All eyes were on David Moyes and Real Sociedad, however, and the Basques put together a solid performance against Real Oviedo, winning 2-0 at the Anoeta.

Much maligned forward Alfred Finnbogason was given the start by Moyes, and he thanked his new manager with a brace. As shared by AS English, it was job well done for the hosts:

Moyes avoids a cup shock as his Real Sociedad side beat Real Oviedo 2-0 at Anoeta. They will face Villarreal in the next round

The final four matches of the 2014-15 Copa del Rey's Round of 32 will be played on Thursday, with defending Spanish champions Atletico Madrid hosting CE L'Hospitalet and Malaga facing off against Deportivo la Coruna.

Barcelona bulldozed their way through to the next round of the Copa del Rey on Tuesday as they beat third-tier side Huesca 8-1 at the Camp Nou to add to their 4-0 victory from the first leg.

Pedro scored a first-half hat-trick along with goals from Andres Iniesta and Sergi Roberto to see the hosts 5-0 up at half-time. Adriano, Adama Traore and Sandro then added three more after the break as Luis Enrique's youngsters ran riot, Opta pointing out that the future of Barca looks bright:

Valencia made their way through the fourth round at the Mestalla after a stunning 4-4 draw with Rayo Vallecano handed the hosts a 6-5 aggregate win.

Paco Alcacer opened the scoring for Valencia after just eight minutes, but Jozabed's header, Alejandro Pozuelo's strike and a Jonathan Pereira goal turned the tie on its head before half-time.

Vallecano conceded their second goal just after the break as Jorge Morcillo put the ball into his own net to make it 3-2, but the visitors regained their two-goal cushion just after the hour through Adri Embarba.

Rayo looked to be heading through to the next round, but Alcacer's second and Rodrigo's strike swung the tie back in the hosts' favour and they held on until the end. Spanish football writer David Cartlidge noted the visitors' fine contribution to the game considering limited resources:

David Cartlidge @davidjaca

Credit to Rayo, barely have resources to compete in La Liga nevermind CDR also. Could’ve rolled over tonight but fought well throughout.

For Almeria, a 2-1 home win over Segunda Division side Real Betis was enough to assure their path through after winning the opening leg 4-3.

The La Liga side were effectively confirmed as through with 15 minutes remaining on Tuesday, Michel and Jonathan Zongo having given Almeria a three-goal aggregate cushion. But Damien Perquis pulled one back for Betis to add some tension to the final 10 minutes.

Top-flight side Celta also went through after a 3-1 win over second-tier Las Palmas overturned the 2-1 deficit from the first leg.

Nauzet bagged the only goal for the visiting Las Palmas, but Joaquin Larrivey and Santi Lorenzo's strikes levelled the aggregate score.

It then took a dramatic stoppage-time goal from Fabian Orellana to see Celta through and send the underdogs back home with nothing.
