About

I am an experienced sustainability professional and integrative thinker, with expertise in climate science, built environment, carbon/water accounting, and sustainability frameworks across multiple industries, including construction, agriculture, and transport. Experienced in managing cross-functional teams and nurturing their development.

In my current role as Director of Knowledge Management and Learning, I support our innovation through the creation of educational experiences. My goal is to empower teams with the knowledge and skills necessary to succeed in bringing change for a sustainable future.

While working in the construction industry, my curiosity to understand the environmental impacts of products and systems led me to pursue doctoral studies in life cycle assessment (LCA). I worked on the verification of Environmental Product Declarations and use of LCA in green building certification schemes. This led me to explore solutions for the circular economy while my work in business development made me sensitive to always to look at how sustainability can deliver business value.

In addition, I take systemic approach to understand how to facilitate the certification of projects for the carbon market and value change through digital tools and business process innovation. This work included leading research initiatives and teams of subject matter experts exploring nature-based solutions.

Through this work, the most valuable lesson I have learned is about building common ground to enable change. This includes participating in the development of strategies for innovation, business alignment, and value creation through responsibility, risk management, brand value, and business opportunity.

In this article we explored the applicability of the net-zero paradigm for the built environment using solar energy, rainwater harvesting and urban agriculture in the conterminous USA. I focused on the water section and in producing the geodata framework for analysis, with its corresponding maps.
