Captured the 2006 Brazilian national championship in the 200-meter back with a time 2:01.04 … Won silver medals in the 400-meter IM (4:28.92) and the 800-meter FR (7:27.28) at his country’s national meet … Also placed fourth in the 100-meter back (56.60) and fifth in the 200-meter IM (2:07.03) … Produced an eighth-place finish in the 200-meter back (2:00.73) at the 2006 Mutual of Omaha Pan Pacific Championships … Also placed 14th in the 200-meter IM (2:04.15), 15th in the 100-meter back (57.65) and 16th in the 200-meter free (1:52.06) at Pan Pacs … Also competed in the 400-meter IM (4:23.46) … Placed 19th in the 400-meter IM at the 2004 Olympic Games in Athens, Greece, with a time of 4:23.01.

2006-07: Earned seven All-America honors at the NCAA Championships in Minneapolis (3/15-17), finishing the meet as the team’s active leader in that category … Took second in the 400 IM (3:41.08) and third in both the 200 back (1:41.86) and 200 IM (1:43.69) … Posted career-best times in both the 200 and 400 IM … Member of the national runner-up 800 FR team (6:17.82) … Led off the sixth-place 400 MR squad (3:09.65) with a career-best split of 46.63 in the 100 back … Also helped the 400 FR qualify seventh and the 200 FR qualify eighth during the prelims sessions … Earned individual titles in the 200 back (1:41.38) and the 200 IM (1:44.71) at the SEC Championships (2/7-10) … Helped the 800 FR squad win the league crown for the sixth-consecutive season (6:22.31) … Touched second in the 100 back with a career-best 47.52 at the conference meet … Also helped the 200 FR (1:19.16), 400 FR (2:55.56) and 400 MR (3:13.11) squads to second-place finishes … Took home seven All-SEC honors … Swam the 500 free for the first time in his collegiate career against FAU (1/27), registering an NCAA provisional-qualifying time of 4:25.27 in an exhibition swim … Won the 200 back against Tennessee (1/26) with an NCAA automatic-qualifying time of 1:42.74 … Placed third in both the 100 free (46.48) and 100 fly (50.59) in the tri-meet sweep of Alabama and South Carolina (1/20) … Recorded wins and an NCAA B standards in both the 100 back (48.16) and 100 fly (48.18), as well as a runner-up finish and a provisional cut in the 200 IM (1:47.30), versus Auburn (1/19) … Also led off the 400 MR squad that posted an NCAA provisional cut (3:15.60) against the Tigers … Picked up a win and an NCAA provisional cut in the 200 fly (1:47.10), and also led the Gators’ 200 MR squad to victory (1:31.04) against Indian River CC (1/13) … Won the 200 free with an NCAA provisional time of 1:36.91 against Virginia (1/12), while also earning B cuts in exhibition swims of the 100 fly (48.25) and the 400 IM (3:52.60) … Also led off the first-place 200 MR squad (1:30.46) versus UVa … Finished first in the 200 back with an NCAA provisional qualifying time of 1:46.38, and took runner-up honors in both the 100 back (49.20) and 100 fly (49.28), against Florida State (11/21) … Won both the 200 IM (1:47.70) and the 200 back (1:44.21) with NCAA provisional qualifying times against Texas (11/10) … Collected a third NCAA B cut in the 100 back against the Longhorns with a leadoff split of 48.28 in the 400 MR … Led the team to its season-opening win over Michigan with wins in the 200 free (1:37.57) and 200 back (1:44.51), garnering Division I National Collegiate Swimmer of the Week honors from CollegeSwimming.com for his efforts … His time in the 200 free was a career best at the time, and both times from his individual wins were NCAA provisional qualifying standards … Also notched an NCAA B cut in the 100 back (48.03) on the leadoff leg of the first-place 400 MR squad (3:18.77) against the Wolverines.

2005-06: Joined the team in January of 2006 and made an immediate impact … Collected seven All-America honors at the 2006 NCAA Championships (3/23-25) … Placed fifth in the 200 back with a time of 1:42.89 after turning in a career-best time in the event during prelims … Posted a 10th-place effort in the 100 back (47.74) and earned an 11th-place finish in the 200 IM (1:46.04) … Contributed to the fourth-place finish turned in by the 800 FR squad (6:21.69) … Competed in the third spot on the seventh-place 400 MR squad (3:09.95), helped the 200 MR team finish seventh (1:29.90) and swam the anchor leg of the 10th-place 200 FR team (1:19.50) … Helped the 800 FR team (6:21.91) win the SEC championship by swimming the final leg (2/15-18) … Finished second in the 200 back with a time of 1:42.98 … Placed fourth in the 100 back (48.05) … Also participated in the 200 MR (1:26.60) and 400 MR (3:10.77) … Member of the 200 MR team that finished first against Indian River CC (2/4) … Exhibitioned the 400 IM (3:51.05) … First in the 100 back (47.76) against Auburn (1/21) … Earned second-place finishes in the 100 fly (48.11), 200 back (1:43.25) and 200 MR (1:29.87) against the Tigers … Took first in the 100 fly (48.81) against Alabama (1/20) … Helped the 400 MR team win with a time of 1:26.63 and exhibitioned the 200 FR (1:26.45) vs. the Crimson Tide … Won the 200 IM (1:48.75) at the Dallas Morning News Classic (1/13-14) … Swam the third leg of the 800 FR (6:32.63) to help the team finish first … Placed second in the 200 back (1:45.55) and seventh in the 100 fly (49.00) … Also swam the 200 MR (1:29.30) and 400 MR (3:20.70) … Took first in his initial collegiate race, the 200 free (1:39.73), against LSU (1/12) … Helped the 200 MR team finish first (1:32.98).
