After finalising a deal for free agent Jerome Boateng, last-placed Salernitana also reached an agreement with former Roma defender Kostas Manolas.
The Greek has been a free agent since last month after he terminated his contract with Emirati club Sharjah–exiting the club after just eighteen months. The deal also reunites him Salernitana sporting director Walter Sabatini–who originally brought him to Serie A in 2014 when he was in the same role at Roma.
Manolas touched down in Italy on Thursday afternoon to undergo his medical examinations before being presented to the fans during an open training session at the Stadio Arechi.
“I’m very excited to be here and to have returned to Italy, forza Salernitana,” Manolas told Sky Sport upon his arrival.
