Russia world cup- A goal against Diabetes: Nacho Monreal

Nacho Monreal was born in Pamplona, Spain. He was diagnosed a diabetic at 12 years of age. Doctors repeatedly told him that his football playing days are were over. He struggled to make his official debut for his hometown club in an away game against Valencia CF on 22 October 2006.
The rest is history.

"Of course it's difficult, because you have to take care of yourself three times more than a normal person, but in a roundabout way I think that also helps. You have to take greater care with your diet and the way you rest. It makes you more responsible because you always have to carry your equipment [insulin, monitor, etc]," he had told UEFA.com
