About the author

Guilherme de Faria (artist and writer born in 12/29/1942 in Sao Paulo, capital) Guilherme de Faria began his professional life as an artist from 1962. In 1963 the Gallery was launched by Rada Abramo a news rookies taking their design been noticed and praised by the great critic José Geraldo Vieira. The following year (1964) Guilherme would make his first one man show of drawings, the prestigious Gallery St. Louis, the great art dealer Anna Maria Fiocca (deceased). Despite the young age of the artist, this exhibition was extraordinary success, early consecrational. Since then the artist held dozens of solo exhibitions in Brazil and abroad and participated in many one man show. In the art market itself, Guilherme was launched by the great Italian art dealer Giuseppe Baccaro who worked in São Paulo, especially with its famous Auction House. In 1970, Baccaro invited Guilheme to move to the city of Olinda (PE) which had settled and founded House of Olinda Children, charitable foundation dedicated to arts education to poor children of the city. During his period of Olinda, the artist's drawings were sold in São Paulo on Collectio Gallery auction, José Paulo Domingues. Guilherme return in São Paulo with a solo exhibition of his oil paintings, a technique that has never left, the Global Art Gallery (the Globo Television Network) at the invitation of dealers Raquel Arnaud and Franco Terranova. During the exhibition made its first lithography workshop in Ymagos, and dedicate to this technique intensively for twenty consecutive years (until 1995), producing about 865 images with an average circulation of 150 copies each. During the exhibition at the Global Arts, William made his first lithographs, drawing a bull in bavarian stone, brush and touche water, which was very successful. From then on the artist would develop a lithographer career, from 1974 in Graphic Ymagos, Otavio Pereira, gaucho, "masterprinter" and Elsio Motta, Rio, businessman, both now deceased. From 1995 until today, Guilherme would focus more intensely on oil on canvas painting, and from 2001 also to literature, including an unusual production as backcountry nature of cordelista, publishing their twine leaflets illustrated by him in primitive style, strangely authentic, as the artist has not northeastern hinterland or even any ancestors. Guilherme recites performatively, dramatically, their cords, with an unusual accent backcountry. In addition to the twine, Guilherme is dedicated to painting, in what he calls his " fase Alma Welt", an heteronym, his muse in recent years, remarkable poet gaucho he invented, illustrated and prefaced and launched the book Tales of Alma in 2004. On July 14, 2010 a graphic artist's retrospective was mounted at Caixa Cultural, named Guilherme de Faria - GRAPHIC WORK This exposure was in Sao Paulo until the 17th of October 2010. Guilherme de Faria continues with his Alma Welt stage in a number of different imaginary landscapes where the redhead wandering muse appears. It must be said that the artist, unusually, said on facebook that the prolific writer and thinker Alma Welt is a heteronym of himself, Guilherme de Faria (created by him in 2001), to the surprise of the poet's legion of fans on the Internet.
