Cyndi Lauper is officially a city girl full-time now. The New York City native recently sold her Stamford, Connecticut, home for a reasonable $804,625 after keeping it as a quiet out-of-town retreat for more than 30 years. The iconic singer now lives permanently n New York City, but that surely didn’t make the 3,885-square-foot home any easier to part with, as, according to The Stamford Advocate,, it was the first house she ever purchased. Lauper first listed the home last May for $1.25 million, but reduced the asking price to $1.07 million in July and then to $935,000 one month later.

The home is made up of three bedrooms and four bathrooms, and was originally built in 1975. Lauper and her husband, actor Dave Thornton, and their son, Declyn, bought the place in 1986 and the family lived there for some time. Unique features of the home include an in-ground pool and a separate guest house above the garage that was used as a music studio to write a lot of her hit songs. The eclectic main house consists of a great room with a ceiling featuring hand-painted stenciling; a breakfast nook in the kitchen with a train car bench imported from Paris; and a master bathroom adorned with mosaics made from imported French tiling. Lauper integrated the French country home vibe throughout the rest of the property as well, installing four etched-glass doors imported from Paris and topping the house with a French country–style roof.
