Scott Christ is the managing editor of Bad Left Hook and has been covering boxing for SB Nation since 2006.

Women's boxing makes its Olympic debut today, as pioneering ladies in the flyweight, lightweight, and middleweight divisions take to the ring in London for morning action.

In the afternoon, the men are back, with bantamweights and heavyweights in quarterfinal bouts, as the hunt for gold heats up.

The Americans have a representative in each of the three women's weight classes, but our flyweight (Marlen Esparza) and middleweight (Claressa Shields) have first-round byes. Lightweight Queen Underwood does fight this morning, however.

CNBC is live again today for American viewers. Or you can watch almost-live at NBCOlympics.com.

There will be a morning thread, but I've made the choice for my own sleep health to take the morning off. Part of me feels bad about not covering the women, but I could stand to get a couple good nights of sleep at this point, as for eight days I've been running on fumes. There will be afternoon live coverage, however.
