Edinson Cavani believes Luis Suárez will succeed at Barcelona

It is clear so far that Luis Suárez is still adapting to Barcelona. But one teammate of his believes everything will work out.

Edinson Cavani, Suárez's partner at the Uruguay national team, gave an interview this week in which he commented on his countryman's development with the Catalans, and he thinks that El Pistolero will get better after going through an adaptation period with the Blaugrana.

"Luis is getting used to playing a different style of football than he did at Liverpool. Surely it won't be easy for him. It is a difficult playing scheme because there is a lot of movement and Barca is not used to playing with a 'pure 9.'

"With Luis Suarez's fitness and talent, I am sure he gives a lot to Barca.

"I think that if a team are used to playing a certain way one has to find a way to adapt to their system.

"But it depends, because a coach must look for a style of play that adapts to a certain forward because many times I think when you play with a fixed attacker you have to work out a system by which all plays finish with him. But it depends on the coach's preference."

Tactically, Cavani has a point. Although Suárez is a very good player on the movement, his monster season at Liverpool last year happened in part because he played really close to the goal. Luis Enrique has made adjustments in that sense, moving Lionel Messi to the right flank and allowing Luisito to stay closer to the posts. Although Barça is not going to play with a true center-forward, they're getting there with Suárez on the field. Credit Dracula himself for being patient and willing to adjust to the new scheme. He's certainly making sacrifices for the better of the team. Like a 2010 Chris Bosh or a 2014 Kevin Love, for instance.

Also, Suárez is still not 100% physically. This is a guy who couldn't play for four months because of a FIFA ban. It's very difficult to get into game shape in three months on the fly. Luckily, Luisito is getting fit for the most important part of the season. Maybe this goal is an indication that he's close to Peak Suárez.
